The Mission of the Church Sermon — The Call to Church Action Series #13
References: 2 Corinthians 5:11-17
Men and women will be persuaded by our gospel if we know and show the redeeming power of divine love. Love is a universal language. It requires no introduction and requests no interpreter.
When our lives become vehicles for expression of the constraining love of Jesus, we have found the key to evangelistic persuasiveness.
Paul reminds his readers of the mission of the church. We need to always keep our spiritual eyes on the target of the ministry. Paul sums up the target of the ministry in three words—“we persuade men” –and then proceeds to show us how men and women can be persuaded of the validity of the gospel in such a city as Corinth – or anywhere in the world, for that matter.
